Anyways, I baked my brownies not knowing if the outcome is right or wrong (crusty top and moist inside). I gave a tray to my husband's colleague as it's impossible for us to finish all. Well, the comments were positive. His family love it. So does mine. Hmm .... then I would have to do it the same way I do it the first time now.
Ingredients:
- 120g Unsweeten Chocolate
- 200g Semi-Sweet Chocolate
- 220g Unsalted Butter
- 6 large Eggs
- 400g Sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon Vanilla Essence
- 210g All-Purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- Preheat oven to 170C.
- Melt chocolate in a bowl or pot over another pot of simmering water.
- Set aside.
- Whisk eggs and sugar together.
- Fold in the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla essence.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt together.
- Fold into the chocolate and sugar mixture till well combined.
- Grease your pan and pour mixture in.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes or do the toothpick test.
The original recipe calls for 680g of semisweet or bittersweet chocolate but I cut it and it still taste great!

It looks really good! Yummy!! Actually, different ppl define brownie differently. Some like it more fudgy or less fudgy or softer etc.. but I like it this way with crispy top & moist inside. :) Looks like you are making full use of your new oven. :)

ReplyDeleteElaine, there is a famous one over at Taka Basement that sell yummilicious brownie. You may want to give it a try to see if it can give you some idea of new receipe. They have quite a few choices of brownies. I simply love the #1 choice over there :):)

We seldom go down town. If we go there it will be bcos we have to eat Xiao Long Bao at Ding Tai Feng or Dim Sum to Crystal Jade Resturant. :P hehe ... After that we would be too full to try anything else. :p Maybe I'll ask my hubby to ta bao some next time we go there. ;) Thanks!
I think you got them just right judging from the 'crusty on top moist inside' - that's exactly how they should be!

Ng, You can replace with Top Flour but not self raising flour. If you want to use Self raising flour, you have to exclude the salt and baking powder in the recipe.
